After the announcement of vehicles like the Ford F-150 Lightning, GMC Hummer, and Chevy Silverado EV, many people wonder if there will ever be electric RAM trucks for sale. Electric vehicles are taking the auto world by storm. With the rising prices of fuel and the continued concerns about the environment, electric vehicles are a perfect solution.
The good news for RAM fans out there is that we should see electric RAM trucks for sale in just a couple of years. Here’s what you need to know:
The Future of RAM
RAM’s chief executive officer (CEO) Mike Koval recently announced that RAM trucks are going to see some changes. Some hints were made that the highly-anticipated mid-size RAM truck is on the docket for the future. More importantly, Koval announced that there will be RAM EVs coming in 2024.
When compared with other EV trucks, RAM trucks for sale will have looks that showcase their futuristic abilities. The Ford Lightning and Chevy Silverado EV are expected to look just like their gas-powered counterparts. The GMC Hummer EV is just a modern take on the Hummer of old. The RAM EV, however, will take on a new look. It’s expected to have a rounded profile with a more aerodynamic look.
Koval also hinted that every vehicle in the RAM lineup would have some kind of electrification involved. What this means is hard to say, but we might see new electric or hybrid options come to RAM dealers near you.
What To Expect
Since the actual release of electric RAM trucks for sale is a few years out, it’s hard to dive into specifics. Luckily, Stellantis, RAM’s parent company, is not a newcomer to the electric game. There are already options out there, like the Jeep Wrangler 4xe, that showcase what this company can do.
The RAM EV is expected to offer about 500 miles of driving range on a single charge. You’ll also see an innovative fast-charge option and a super quick zero to 60 mph time. The RAM EV should also come with a full lineup of advanced features. This might also be a time to showcase semi-autonomous driving abilities being developed by Stallantis.
How To Get A RAM EV
RAM hasn’t announced an official MSRP for its electric RAM trucks for sale just yet. The F-150 Lightning starts at $39,974, and the Chevy Silverado EV starts at $39,900. The Hummer is in a completely different price range, with models pushing $100k. Since RAM tends to stay competitive with its rivals, you should see an entry-level RAM EV start at around $40,000.
The next major RAM to hit the sales floor won’t be available for a while, but reservations will be an option long before production starts. There’s no telling when that will be just yet, but RAM enthusiasts are keeping an eye out to make sure they are first in line for this amazing new pickup.
