There’s a new 2024 Chevrolet Traverse coming to town, and it’s more rugged than ever. Not only does the entire lineup have an updated exterior look, it will arrive at your Chevrolet dealer with a capable Z71 trim level. If you like the Tahoe, you’ll love the new Traverse. It looks almost like a baby Tahoe with a larger presence.
Ready to Head Off the Beaten Path?
The new Z71 is much more than just good looks. This off-road capable trim has upgraded suspension and dampers designed to tackle rough terrain, and it comes with 18-inch wheels with all-terrain tires. All this equipment gives this Traverse an extra inch of ground clearance. The offset wheels make the Z71 over a half inch wider than the rest of the lineup, and it has a front end designed for a better approach angle. The fun red tow hooks make this model stand out from the other Traverse trims, and it even has a functional metal skid plate.
A New Engine and More Power
What can be better than an engine that not only delivers more power but also more efficiency? Chevy replaces the 3.6-liter V-6 engine under the hood of the Traverse with a new 2.5-liter turbo four-cylinder. It delivers 315 horsepower and generates 317 pound-feet of torque. The eight-speed automatic transmission carries over from the previous generation and helps the Traverse to tow up to 5,000 pounds.
Big Changes Inside Too
There’s been a lot of talk about the 2024 Traverse’s exterior look and new trim, but big changes in the cabin are worth talking about too. A massive 17.7-inch infotainment screen stretches across the middle of the dashboard. It’s twice the size of the screen in the previous Traverse and sits slightly angled toward the driver to help make sure they can see it when heading down the road. This is a big screen, and if you want to reduce the light and distraction, there is a power button on the top that will black out everything but the time and the weather.
In addition to the new infotainment screen, the driver information display grows too. It’s now 11 inches on the diagonal. An available Wi-Fi hotspot wireless charging and several USB ports round out many of the tech features.
Cabin Space for Everyone
The Traverse is one of the most spacious mid-size SUVs you can find. This continues in 2024 and with more conveniences. Just touch a button, and the captain’s chairs in the second-row tip up and then slide forward for easy access to the third row. All the seats fold down flat to make sure it maintains its best-in-class cargo space with over 97 cubic feet. An upgrade to the rear liftgate allows you to open it by kicking your foot near the gate, so loading up the huge cargo area is easier than ever.
The 2024 Chevrolet Traverse will soon be heading to a Chevrolet dealer near you. With so much to look forward to with this update, you’ll want to get there as soon as it arrives.
