Racing Glory for Toyota Over the Weekend

It’s not often that one brand is at or near the top in nearly every race over a weekend, but that was the case this past weekend for the Toyota teams.

Race drivers were able to find their way to either second or better in every racing series over the past weekend, which certainly garnered a ton of attention from race fans around the country. The racers found their way to victory lane in both the POWRi and NASCAR K&N Pro Series East competition as well as in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.

The Toyota NASCAR Results

The driver of the Tundra truck in the Truck Series, Noah Gragson, found his way to victory at Kansas Speedway on Friday night, making his first Truck Series victory. He was able to claim the victory by leading 128 of the 167 laps of the race and own both racing stages. At only 19-years old, Gragson already has top-five finishes in six of the ten races he’s competed in for the Toyota team. In the NASCAR Xfinity Series, Gragson has three top-ten finishes in his first three starts and he now ranks second in points in the Truck Series.

During the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race at Kansa, Martin Truex, Jr. Was able to drive his Toyota Camry to a second-place finish as the top Toyota model in the race. Truex led 13 of the 267 laps during the race. The Camry was part of four of the top finishes in this race with Denny Hamlin finishing fifth, Erik Jones taking seventh, and Kyle Busch reaching tenth to join Truex in the top ten. As the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East event at the South Boston Speedway in Virginia both Tyler Ankrum and Anthony Alfredo claimed their first series victories in the Toyota models they drove on the track.

Norwegian-born driver Fredric Aasbo is the driver of the Toyota Corolla Hatchback that has now taken its third-straight podium finish to start the year. This most recent win took place at the Road Atlanta course on Sunday. This result set a new course record at Road Atlanta and showed this new driver could take on some of the others that have been leaders in this series for the past few seasons. With this result, Aasbo now has a point’s lead of 43 points over the closest competitor.

The driver of the Toyota 86, Ken Gushi, raced in the Great 8 in Atlanta and finished eighth in this competition. In the POWRi, 17-year old Ryan Robinson won at Jacksonville Speedway and Logan Seavey took the title at Macon Speedway to make it 15 of 17 of the Toyota drivers that have now won at national events in this series this season. The Toyota Racing teams are on a roll of leading the way to victory lane at different tracks around the country where you can see some of the excitement and enjoy what this racing group has to offer.
