Top 5 Scary Urban Legends Involving Cars

American folklore includes urban legends that involve many different places in our country with many of these legends being scary and spooky to hear.

Whether you’re being told about a haunted house, the disappearance of people in a field, or strange occurrences involving cars, you’ll be riveted when you let yourself imagine how strange and unusual it can be to experience one of these legends. Let’s take a look at a five that are near the top of the list.

The Riverdale Road Stories

The area around Riverdale Road is so haunted that everyone has moved away. Several stories have popped up over the years including that of a man who burned his house down when he lost his mind, a jogger who lost his life when he was hit while jogging, and a phantomCamaro that patrols the road. The original owner of the Camaro had a fatal crash ad a blind corner and many have reported seeing it in the area.

The Bus to Nowhere in Pennsylvania

Stories have surfaced of a bus belonging to the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) which only shows the name SEPTA on it. No destination is known, no route is mapped out, but when you need this bus, it can appear. As the story goes, you’re eventually moved to pull the cord and leave the bus and its memory behind you.

Don’t Flash Your Headlights at Night

Typically, at dusk or at night, if we see a car driving around without headlights on or with high beams on, we flash ours to signal them to adjust their lights. Supposedly, there is a gang that drives around with either the lights off or with high beams on and marks those that flash lights at them. The marked person is then the target of a killing as a way of initiating a new gang member.

A .22 Bullet Fuse is Not a Good Idea

This urban legend tells us of two men driving around in a truck when their headlights malfunction. The two men determine the trouble is the fuse, which is located on the steering column. One man notices the .22 caliber bullet would fit in the fuse slot and he was proven right. After driving for a little longer, the bullet discharged, causing injuries and the driver to hit a tree.

The Legend of the Evil Black Volga

This legend takes place in many forms in different Eastern European countries. As the urban legend states, there is a haunted black Volga that drives around abducting people along the way. In different versions, there are different drivers with one of them being Satan himself. The story takes us to a place where the organs of the victims are sold to a rich Arabian man who needed them.
