Let’s Focus on What’s Inside

So often we discuss the power, the style, the grace of a car and somewhat discuss the interior of the vehicle, but how many ways are there to tell you a car is comfortable or it has modern features.  Well, there is an interior design that certainly begs for me to find new ways to offer descriptions of the cabin area, which is, by the way, the place you find yourself more often than you do the outside of a vehicle.  The interior that would have me looking at a Thesaurus for some new words is the one that we will see on the market in 2017 adorning the Mercedes-Benz E-Class of vehicles.

Before we get into some of the more advanced features and show off what is new for this interior, the E-Class cabin does have a familiar feel to it.  The reason for this familiarity is the fact it’s based on the successful styling of the S-Class.  You will see leather, metal and wood in places you are used to seeing them to have a sculpted and sumptuous interior that offers you the look and feel you desire and have come to expect from the three-point star badge.

On to some cool features.  What would you get if you lined up sixty-five of the E-class sedans together?  Only two would have the same color of ambient lighting.  Many cars can offer the wording of being individually designed, but when you can choose from sixty-four different colors to choose from for your interior lighting.  This certainly gives you the color and feeling you want inside the cabin of this exceptional interior.

Two screens greet you as soon as you step into the car.  One is the infotainment system which is placed in the center stack, where you would expect, and the other is the instrument panel that offers you two different setups to enjoy.  The base model of the E-Class will have a fixed speedometer and tachometer with a seven-inch screen between them while the infotainment screen is 8.4-inches in size to give us a signature Mercedes-Benz look.  At the second level the look is of two 12.3-inch screens that offer a range of customization for you to choose the look and information you want to be presented with.

There are three looks your instrument screen can give you, Classic, Sport and Progressive.  The Classic is the look we are all used to from Mercedes-Benz and the Sport offers a different font with yellow lettering on a gray background which does look a bit sportier, the Progressive look offers a large dial in the middle with the outlines offering the tachometer and the speedometer is large and seated in the center.  The Progressive look gives you the information you want to have on the screen to know what is going on with the car.

The E-Class is the first model from Mercedes-Benz to offer controls on both sides of the steering wheel for your thumbs.  This makes it much easier to control the features of the instruments and the main infotainment screen, to make it much easier to focus on the road ahead and enjoy the control that you have for the car.  Because these thumb pads are akin to a touchpad you will only need a minute to master the controls offered by them and enjoy the amazing features of control that you have.

Sitting in the seats offers you a comfortable position to drive from.  The seats wrap and coddle your body in wonderful fashion in the front and there is plenty of room to stretch out your legs and be relaxed.  In the rear seat of the E-Class you find a great deal of space, even for taller passengers to have a ride that is as cozy as it can get from a car.  These seats were actually designed to form to the human body and give you the most supportive and pleasant seating position you can find on any car.  These seats can be had with the Designo quilted pattern to offer even better comfort and style.  You can expect not to have any fatigue from these seats at all and will enjoy the ride for a long time.  The leather for this car can be had in either beige, brown or black and can have contrasting or coordinating colors with the dashboard to offer a beautiful look and design.

The trimmings, as you would expect, offer either wood that is open pore, piano black or a woven metal, which is actually an exclusive trim look to the E-Class that will probably be shared with other models.  The E-Class is showing the world that a more natural wood appearance can give the upscale appearance that is desired for luxury cars, giving us a feeling of nature inside the technologically advanced car.

Other features include a start button that has been changed, tons of great storage is present and the overall feel of the car is one of exquisite style and appearance to be full of fantastic feelings to let you know this is a full-fledged luxury machine you will love.  With this new E-Class interior you can expect the rest of the lineup from Mercedes-Benz will follow suit and give you stunning appearances, supple feeling and a cozy place to call home when you are on the road.
