The electric adventures of Mercedes-Benz continue with the new T-Class being revealed on April 26 and its called the EQT.
At that time, we’ll get a closer look at the production version of the new EQT and what it brings. When the concept model showed up last year, it was easy to see what Merc has in mind. The EQT is a fully-electric small van that looks tremendous. It’s not often we talk about how attractive a van can be, but this one certainly does the job of offering the impressive style and qualities we want to see.
Wait, Will There Be Anything but an Electric Version?
So far, we don’t know whether or not Mercedes-Benz will offer a T-Class group of vehicles with a diesel and a gasoline model or not. This luxury brand is committed to moving toward an all-electric future, and new models could come out as only EVs going forward. Rumors from a year ago told us we might see versions of the EQT with gasoline or diesel engines, but with the latest offerings from this brand, that might not be the case.
The Concept Model is Easy to Look At
If you want to see a minivan with real style, the Mercedes-Benz EQT concept is the one to see. This concept showed up with a big, flat, star-patterned front end, a large grille, and narrow headlights giving us the face that we want to enjoy in the production version. The size is right for a family to enjoy some adventures together. You won’t find many passenger-level minivans that offer as much style and quality in the build as what this concept brought. We can only hope much of this style carries over to the production version we’ll see next month.
What Did the Concept Model Show Us?
Instead of going over the top with tech and futuristic qualities, Mercedes-Benz chose to let the T-Class shine with simplicity. There is a panoramic roof that’s straightforward and understated, a simple dashboard layout with two circular dials, physical climate control buttons, and a small high-res display. This could be the minivan that is futuristic enough to be an EV but classic enough to give owners a bit more of what they want, which is simplicity in the design and control of a vehicle. Instead of going all out with technology, Mercedes-Benz might be onto something special with this van.
The Right Seating is Easy to Find
This new Mercedes-Benz van showed up with seating for seven people, but as an electric vehicle, the cabin is more spacious than a traditional van and much more configurable as well. This is a vehicle that should appeal to families who want to spend time exploring the world together. Whether it’s for a weekend away from home or the annual family vacation, the EQT can easily become the electric van that allows owners to enjoy a zero-emissions driving experience without the need to learn how to use a lot of extra tech.
This could be a vehicle that catches on quickly. We’ll know more after its official reveal on April 26.
