An Easy Relationship to Understand Between Truck Brands
GM has masterfully kept the GMC Sierra and the Chevrolet Silverado joined at the hip. What one truck receives, the other also enjoys in some form or fashion. Typically, the GMC Sierra is offered as the rugged workhorse that’s useful on jobsites while the Silverado is advertised to those who want a truck that can pull the boat or offer the fun on the weekends. Both of these trucks are truly rough and rugged with the toughness desired to get the job done and get out on the road and trails for the fun you want to enjoy.
Because we’ve already seen the new 2019 Chevrolet Silverado, we can surmise what the GMC Sierra 1500 will offer for the same model year. One trim level of the Silverado that piques our interest and allows us to feel great about what this truck can do is the Trail Boss model. In the GMC Sierra, this truck will become the All-Terrain trim and offer the equipment needed to head out on the wild trails of the country. This new version of the Sierra has recently been spied testing on public roads and its certainly one you’ll want for the drive.
Expected Equipment
While none of the information is completely confirmed, it would be a hard pill to swallow if the GMC Sierra didn’t have the equipment offered in the Silverado. This new All-Terrain model is expected to have a two-inch lift, a locking rear differential, Rancho shocks, Goodyear Duratec tires, and underbody skid plates. This beefed up Sierra model will receive an All-Terrain badge to make it the larger All-Terrain to join the GMC Canyon All-Terrain model that’s already offered on the market to give you the drive you’re looking for with a lifted model with more equipment.
Under the hood, you won’t see any surprises as this truck is expected to be powered by a 5.3-liter V8 and a 6.2-liter V8 engine. The smaller engine is attached to an excellent eight-speed automatic transmission while the larger of the two engines is the beneficiary of the new ten-speed transmission to offer more shift points and a smoother ride. This means you’ll have plenty of power for whichever one of the two All-Terrain models you’ll find for the drive when you visit your nearby GMC dealership and choose the right model for your driving experience.
The new 2019 GMC Sierra All-Terrain will make its appearance at the New York International Auto Show to give us a look at what to expect when this truck hits the market later in the year. If this truck doesn’t make its way to this show, you can expect GM to host its own debut event for this truck and give us a look at it later in the spring or summer as it gets closer to the fall arrival at dealerships. If you want a truck that sits higher and offers the ability to enjoy the drive on the trails, the GMC Sierra All-Terrain is the right truck for you.
