2018 GMC Savana: When It’s Time to Get Work Done

There are many jobs that need the versatility and protection of an enclosed space to store materials and tools. For these jobs, one of the vehicles that’s been used for the past two decades has been the GMC Savana work van. The 2018 version of this van doesn’t appear to be much different from the models that were around twenty years ago until you step inside and take a look at what this van has to offer to make sure you can get out on the road and get to work.

Do you need to operate a plumbing business? Are you an electrician? Do you run a shuttle service and need the right van to add to the fleet? All of these needs can be answered with the GMC Savana. This van can be set up with the tool areas and features you want to be able to head out and get things done whether you’re fixing a leaky faucet or rewiring a home. There can be up to fifteen seats in the Savana to make it an easy choice when you’re ready to take it on the road and shuttle people from place to place.

For the 2018 version of the GMC Savana, you’re going to notice the 4.8-liter V8 engine isn’t offered any longer. Instead, you’ll be able to choose the 4.3-liter V6 which serves as the base engine and is mated to a new eight-speed automatic transmission to offer a smooth shifting and the quiet ride you’re looking for. You’ll also notice that a rearview monitor is now standard and side blind zone alerts and hill start assist are now offered as part of the options that you can have when it’s time to enjoy the drive in this van.

Check Out the Features Offered in the GMC Savana

While the cargo version of this van is offered with the bare essentials, it is a comfortable van to drive and one that’s extremely useful for you. This version of the van is offered with air conditioning, power windows and locks, a rearview camera, an auxiliary input, the OnStar 4G LTE Wi-Fi system, and more. For the passenger versions, you can have room for twelve or fifteen passengers and offer the safety needed to make sure everyone can stay safer in the event of a collision when driving on the road.

If you need the Savana to be able to tow items for you while you carry a load of people inside, you can add a towing package, a locking rear differential, cruise control, an upgraded audio system, and a blind spot monitor, all of which are options. There’s also an integrated 6.5-inch touchscreen system offered along with a navigation system that can give you traffic information. The passenger models can be had with rear air conditioning, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and the cargo model can be ordered with a spray-in floor liner to protect the metal underneath. You can add upfitter items such as tool racks and workbenches in the cargo model as well.

Getting Power Where You Need It

The base engine, previously mentioned, is good for 276 horsepower and 298 lb.-ft. of torque but there are two other engines options you’ll have as well. The 2.8-liter turbocharged diesel four-cylinder engine provides you with 181 horsepower and 369 lb.-ft. of torque for the drive while the massive 6.0-liter V8 pumps out a strong 342 ponies and 373 lb.-ft. of torque for the drive. All three engines make use of either a six-speed or eight-speed automatic transmission and make it easy for you to have the drive and the quality you’re looking for.

The GMC Savana has been the workhorse that you know and admire to help get the job done. Whether you need to buy a new one to replace the worn out model you’ve been driving or you’re looking to add another model to the fleet you manage, this van is one that can allow you to have the drive and the space you need to get things done.
