For generations many car companies have offered us cars that have made us make the “ooh and ahh” sounds. Many of these companies work hard to have a signature style to their vehicles or the most dynamic suspensions and engines that growl in order to have features we become familiar with from their nameplate. It would be disappointing to see a car from a name such as Ferrari that was as basic as a Toyota Corolla and just as disheartening to have others that play in the same sandbox as Ferrari show up with less than ideal offerings.
Thankfully, and even though it may be a bit short sighted on their part, Alfa Romeo has a singular focus on their entire car lineup. Leaders from the brand have even come out an stated they won’t build an SUV because the style does not offer a beautiful look and their cars are meant to be highly attractive works of art for all of us to admire and make those wonderful noises that come out when a vehicle reaches us on a basic and nearly subconscious level. With that in mind Alfa Romeo is poised and ready to give us their latest offering, which we have discussed previously.
The Alfa Romeo Giulia is the next vehicle to come out and with the Quadrifoglio spec the car will not only look amazing but perform at a high level and reach a brand standard that we have come to expect from Alfa. Making its first appearance earlier in the month at the Frankfurt Auto Show the Giulia gave us another look at the smooth styling and beautiful features of this car that is actually tuned to be nearly as athletic as the offerings that come out from BMW, making a statement for the British automaker.
The Giulia will be powered by a twin-turbocharged V6 that will make a strong 510 horsepower and reach sixty mph in less than four seconds. To go with this amazing straight line speed the car will offer the quickest steering in its class to be able to respond perfectly to inputs from the driver. As a car that Alfa will expect to carry them to the next volume level the price of this top trim will start around $75,000 which lets us know the lower trim levels will be even more reasonably priced than the Giulia.
Because this car is slated to come out for the 2017 model year we get to spend an entire year discussing what this car will be once it does make it to the marketplace. What has been the signature feature of Alfa Romeo; it’s always been beautiful cars that are tuned perfectly and make the driving easy and smooth even at high speeds. It’s no wonder these are the cars that are chosen for the various James Bond movies and certainly a new Alfa will be on the table for anyone who is looking for their next great luxury car and is willing to pay the cost for this beautiful new offering of the Giulia.
