Volkswagen to Make an Important Shift in Their Business
The name Volkswagen has been synonymous with many vehicles for generations and brought us such vehicles as the Rabbit in the 1980s and the Golf, Passat and others of today. Did you know as a company they are a very large group of brands? There are actually twelve brands under the Volkswagen umbrella which is called the Volkswagen Group. These brands have a relationship with each other to beg, borrow and share whatever each one has that others can benefit from. With this partnership in place for working we have seen some amazing vehicles come out of the Volkswagen Group to be admired and enjoyed with awesome driving experiences.
The twelve names that are part of the Volkswagen Group include Volkswagen, Seat, Skoda, Audi, Lamborghini, Ducati, Porsche, Bentley, Bugatti, Volkswagen Commercial, Scania and Man. Some of these you may have never hear of, but others have brought us cars that have been the top in their design, performance and have filled and important role in the automotive world. Consider the Porsche 911, Bugatti Veyron, Lamborghini Diablo and many more that have been produced to bring us cars we dream to own and offer teenagers wall art for them to see what they could have some day.
Of course most of the Volkswagen Group offerings are sensible vehicles that come to us as offerings that need no explanation. We love to see the Golf or a Passat and know the precise handling and performance dynamics that could have been developed at Porsche or Audi. The Audi lineup brings us the most enticing interiors in the automotive world, which certainly could have been part of some of the designs from Bentley or Bugatti, which have both given us some high end luxury cars to admire and drive.
As you can plainly see the relationship across the spectrum for the Volkswagen Group has been one where each brand can benefit and bring forth the best they have to offer. The announcement that changes the shift in business is a splitting of the twelve brands in to four different holding companies. By doing this the Volkswagen Group will be aligning the brands in a logical way in order to keep the brands that most closely match together. Doing this will allow the company to be able to more quickly respond to changes in the market; a certain sore spot for the company for many years under their former Chairman.
The changes will look like this; Volkswagen, Seat and Skoda will be together under Herbert Diess; Audi, Lamborghini and Ducati will be grouped under Rupert Stadler; Porsche, Bentley and Bugatti will be run by Matthias Mueller; and Volkswagen Commercial, Scania and Man will be operated by Andreas Renschler. This pairing down will give each group the ability to make changes in a rapid manner while still offering the strength of collaboration that has been a huge part of the success for the Volkswagen Group for so many years.
