The new Amazon Alexa assistant is a form of Artificial Intelligence (AI) that seems to be more popular than ever for the way it allows you to have reminders, get things done, and connect your home, phone, and even your vehicle. As this system becomes more popular, automakers are scrambling to make sure their models are able to be used with the Alexa system so that you can tell Alexa to start your car or adjust some of the features for you. BMW and Mini
The models in these two brand lineups that are equipped with the BMW Connected, including the BMW 7 Series or Mini Connected system are able to be integrated with Amazon Alexa. This means you can use Alexa to check the vehicle status and control some of the systems in the vehicle You won’t even need a smartphone to use Alexa from your car because the vehicles come equipped with a built-in SIM card for this connectivity.
Jeep and Ram
The models that offer the connectivity you need for Alexa include the 2013-2017 Ram 1500, 2500,3500, 2014-2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 2014-2018 Jeep Cherokee, 2015-2017 Jeep Renegade, and soon the 2018 Jeep Wrangler. The Alexa system cannot connect to many of the 2018 models from FCA, but its offered on some of the previous models for your enjoyment.
Ford
Every Ford model that has the Sync 3 version 2.2 or higher infotainment system can make use of Alexa in the vehicle when using a connected smartphone.
