The Unbelievable 2015 Jaguar XF

With Jaguar building luxury cars for a very long time the British automaker has had a ton of success with sleek stylish and very eye-catching cars that tickle the fancy of many drivers and leave onlookers green with jealousy. With complete new stylings across all its vehicles over the past few years, Jaguar is aiming to appeal to crowds of all ages with a target on the younger generations. By adding a great deal of technology and informative features the XF has something to draw in any crowd regardless of age.

The XF is built to compete with the BMW 5-Series, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Lexus GS and Audi A6 and it does so with outstanding precision of handling, power of engine and seriously refined and sophisticated luxury that often can only be found in a movie with James Bond as the lead character. For the 2015 model year the XF has incorporated many of the optional features from previous years to be standard features on the car for this model year. The supercharged V6 engine is now available in the Sport trim and the Adaptive Cruise Control has been deleted from any offering on this vehicle.

The engine lineup for the XF comes in the form of three engines that are set up in five different ways for the different models of this car. All engines are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters when manual control is preferred. All engines except the base model offer start-stop technology to help with fuel efficiency as well. Only the 3.0-liter engine offer all-wheel drive, all others are only available in rear-wheel drive formats.

The base model engine found on the XV 2.0T is a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine that reaches 240 horsepower and 251 lb.-ft. of torque. This engine with the transmission bring in a very pleasant fuel efficiency of 19 city/30 hwy mpg.

The mid-level engine that is found on the XF 3.0 is a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 engine offering up 340 horsepower and 332 lb.-ft. of torque. When put with the transmission this model will achieve a fuel efficiency of 17 city/28 hwy mpg for the RWD model and 16 city/26 hwy mpg for the AWD version.

The third engine that is configured three different ways starts out as a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine and is found on the XF Supercharged giving up a strong 470 horsepower and 424 lb.-ft. of torque. This beast will run a very niche 15 city/23 hwy mpg of fuel efficiency which is pretty stout considering it is a V8.

The next configuration is the same 5.0 V8 that shows up on the XFR and bringing a massive 510 horsepower and 461 lb.-ft. of torque. Amazingly even with more power squeezed from this engine the fuel numbers stay the same making this an even more attractive choice of power.

The most powerful configuration comes in the form of the same 5.0 V8 that is put I the XFR-S models carrying the strongest of them all 550 horsepower and 502 lb.-ft. of torque. Once again this version does not lose anything in the way of fuel mileage which only leave the decision of how much power is desired the only real choice for a shopper.

Offering a cabin that is plush and very luxury laden with wood and metal accents and some of the softest leather upholstery that can be found on any car the XF comes to the party with an interior that is really attractive to a very affluent crowd. Smartly designed with buttons and knobs for most of the often used controls and leaving the touch screen for navigation and audio controls the interior is easy to enjoy and a pleasure to ride in. With plenty of space all around and the trunk can easily carry a foursome worth of clubs to the links for the proper form of a business meeting.

From the outside the XF offers a front face that is full of personality and interesting lines and curves. The sharp eye-shaped headlights that flank the rounded rectangular grill are almost manic in their appearance and the curve from the hood to the roof is easy and smooth giving a feeling of true aerodynamic design. With an athletic and aggressive stance the XF is sharp and sophisticated from the outside with a hint of menace underneath. Add the chrome exhaust ports and aluminum-alloy spoke-style wheels and the XF is very sharp and ready to show off its awesome stylings.

The standard features offered for the XF includes a navigation system, a rearview camera, the Meridian premium audio system, keyless entry, blind spot monitoring, a split-folding rear seat, a heated steering wheel and upgraded front seats all can be found on the 2.0 and 3.0 models. The V8 models add active differential control, larger brakes and wheels and an upgraded interior trim.

The optional features offered for the Jaguar XF include a Cold Weather Package that adds a heated steering wheel and windshield, larger wheels, walnut or ebony interior veneer, and specialized metallic paint. The list of optional features is so short because the standard features offered on the XF is so extensive.

To those who want to be different from the rest of the executive crowd and purchase a 2015 Jaguar XF the starting price point comes in around $51,000. The 3.0 model starts around $58,000 for RWD and the AWD version reaches just beyond $60,000. The V8 models start over $70,000 with the top model reaching right around $100,000. As a high end midsized luxury sedan these prices are actually very reasonable and come in under many of the competitors for similar models.
