The formula for delivering an amazing product is either to start with a clean sheet and begin building from the ground up or take what you already offer and keep making it better until it’s an undeniable icon. The Dodge Challenger has been created using the second method and it has become a car that offers us a large number of different choices to be the muscle car that offers the most power on the market. The Challenger is the one American Muscle car that most closely resembles the models from the original muscle car era for our pleasure and enjoyment on the road.
If it’s Not Broke..
The old adage of not fixing something that isn’t broken applies to the Dodge Challenger. While this model was gone from the market for many years, it’s truly only in its third generation on the market. This generation began a decade ago and it seems that it should have been replaced until you look at the sales numbers. The Challenger is a car that has sales that have increased over the past few years to make it the massive coupe that has captured our hearts and imaginations once again.
A Pair of Challengers that You’re Sure to Love
The Dodge Challenger offers a new model called the SRT Hellcat Redeye for the 2019 model year and the classic but upgraded R/T Scat Pack Widebody. These two are impressive with wide fender flares to give you the wider track you want to enjoy when you take the car for a race on a dragstrip. The additional width when the widebody build is enjoyed is a full 3.5-inches, but both of these cars can be had without the widebody build.
Power for the Drive
The Redeye model of the Challenger makes use of the 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine that gives you 797 horsepower and 707 lb.-ft. of torque for the drive. This power is attached to an eight-speed automatic transmission and can give you a run to sixty mph of only 3.4 seconds with a top speed of 203 mph. The R/T Scat Pack is powered by a 6.4-liter V8 that makes 485 horsepower and 475 lb.-ft. of torque and it can be had with either a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission for the powerful drive. These are both impressive cars for you to have the fast and fun drive you want to enjoy.
Big and Heavy, the Challenger Gives You a Lot to Love
There’s no denying that the Challenger is a car that’s heavy and robust on the road, but that just gives you more car to love. The powerful engines used can rocket this car down the strip or on the road with ease. If you’re going to spend a lot of time at the track, the Redeye could be the right choice for you. On the other hand, if you’re going to spend more time on the roads, the R/T Scat Pack could be everything you want in this amazing car from Dodge.
