The 2022 Chevrolet Corvette just came out a cocoon with a tremendous upgrade, including new color options, add-on packages, and an upgraded engine. All of these changes result in a starting price that is about $1,200 more than its previous year. Of course, this is a slight increase when you’re considering a $62,000 sports car.

Here are some of the most noteworthy upgrades that make this model the best Chevrolet Corvette yet:

Mid-Engine To The Max

Everyone who loves the modern Chevrolet Corvette knows the 6.2-liter LT2 V8 that powers this sports car. The 2022 model comes with a new fuel pump and fuel injectors that give this beast the ability to run higher fuel pressures.

While the EPA hasn’t released fuel-economy estimates, the new and improved Active Fuel Management system that engages cylinder deactivation at lower speeds to make an impact. Most people don’t drive a Corvette because it’s easy on gas, but saving at the pump is always a bonus.

Even though the new Corvette maintains 490 horsepower, it’s as fast as ever. This rocket can go from zero to 60 mph in a mere 2.8 seconds and finish a quarter-mile in 11.2 seconds at a nice 122 mph.

Become a Champion

This year marks the first year that drivers can get the IMSA GTLM Championship Edition add-on package. This unique upgrade is only available on 1,000 units and will add an additional $6,595 to the price. To get this, you’ll also have to opt for the 3LT model equipped with the Z51 performance package.

With this add-on package, you can choose between two brand-new colors: Accelerate Yellow and Hypersonic Gray. The mirrors and spoilers are finished in Carbon Flash that complements the black wheels and skull logo on the center caps and brakes.

This special edition shows off with a Strike Yellow and Sky Cool Gray interior with bucket seats and yellow seat belts inside. Of course, you can go with the competition seats as well. If you’re looking for a unique way to make this already stylish vehicle stand out, the IMSA GTLM Championship Edition package is definitely the way to go.
