If you want to talk about a company that has been the most admired and one of the most arrogant over the course of the past century, Rolls-Royce would fit the bill. This company has routinely created the most luxurious vehicles on the planet and given us a look at what we want to enjoy from a driving standpoint. There hasn’t been any other company that brings the features and excitement that are part of Rolls-Royce and the names like Phantom, Wraith and Ghost have and will live in lore forever when it comes to the history of the automotive industry.
What Rolls-Royce has never done, which may seem arrogant (but when you can back it up is it really arrogance), is to build a concept of their vehicles. They have always known what they want to offer their customers and have done a great job of bringing these items to the market for their high end clientele to enjoy. For the celebration of the centenary of BMW, which is the parent company of Rolls-Royce, four new concepts are going to be shown over the next few months, two from BMW, one from MINI and one from Rolls-Royce.
The Vision Next 100 Concept from BMW has already been revealed and the other concept BMW will show is going to be a motorcycle. MINI is expected to show a car that is able to be customized in many ways to be one that will attract a larger audience to purchase the small but mighty vehicles. For Rolls-Royce, the Phantom name will no longer be part of the lineup but a new model will take its place which could be built from the new Rolls-Royce Grand Sanctuary concept model which will be featured at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in June for us to admire.
What will this new concept be? As the name mentions it could be a sanctuary from the world around you. If it’s anything like the highly advanced BMW Next 100 concept it will be able to drive itself and let you relax and enjoy the posh surroundings that are part of what Rolls-Royce is all about. You can of course expect to see the large a sophisticated grill that has the Spirit of Ecstasy hood ornament adorning the top of the hood right at the front for all to see and be completely amazed by.
Using old world looks and a build that truly embodies what Rolls-Royce is all about partnered with the technological advancements that have been made over the years, this new car could be a fitting replacement for the Phantom. No matter what this car actually turns out to be you can bet this car will take our breath away and deliver the perfectly crafted build and equipment we have come to love. Owners of the new Grand Sanctuary might need to start having interviews for a new driver for this car so they can still enjoy the back seat riding with their clients or they could be the drivers themselves; it all depends upon what this car is, which we won’t learn until June.
