Not all concept cars are created equal, but if you want a peek into what the future of automotive design and expert engineering may bring, take a look at a few of Nissan’s concept cars.
Nissan concept cars showcase the best that their designers have to offer. While some concepts make it to production, and you see it at a Nissan dealer in some form or another, others are just their ideas of what could possibly be some time in the future.
The Nissan Max-Out
The Max-Out concept is an all-electric convertible with a distinctly futuristic look. The Max-Out has just two seats and features a drop-top that combines Nissan’s design with a retro eighties feel. Both the front and rear fascias have long rectangular grilles where you’ll find the lighting, and each of the wheels has a neon-ish light source. Inside, the Max-Out replaces a steering wheel with a steering yoke and two lounge seats. A huge screen sits at the front, housing the infotainment system and vehicle status.
The Nissan Hang-Out
The Hang-Out is a boxy hatchback that might be slightly reminiscent of the Nissan Cube. It, of course, has an electric powertrain and all-wheel drive, but there’s also a flat floor and theater-like seating courtesy of the electric motor. An advanced semi-autonomous driving system will let you take your hands off the wheel under certain conditions. The Hang-Out might be the one concept that has the most potential to reach production. So, keep a lookout for a modern Cube at your Nissan dealer.
The Nissan Surf-Out
The Surf-Out looks almost like a single-cab electric pickup truck. It has a bed that’s just large enough and wheel arches that feature black plastic cladding. The vision with this truck is a true off-road electric truck with two motors, all-wheel drive, and several different outputs.
The Nissan Chill-Out
The Chill-Out is the next-generation crossover SUV. It looks sleek and modern on the outside and features a comfortable interior space designed for drivers who want to stay productive. It has lots of advanced safety technology and is built on the CMF-EV platform to ensure maximum comfort.
The Nissan Hyper Force
Nissan revealed the Hyper Force at the 2023 Tokyo Auto Show. It was the last vehicle they unveiled out of the five concepts they showcased. The Hyper Force is just as aggressive as its name makes it sound. It sits low to the ground, has an enormous giant rear wing, and sharp gleaming edges on every side. This concept is designed with racing enthusiasts in mind. It’s an all-electric supercar with a goal of delivering environmentally friendly performance and comfort in one complete package.
While it’s too early to tell if any of these concepts will make it to a Nissan dealer anytime in the future, they do represent Nissan’s vision of the future. Electric powertrains, modern technology, and advanced driving aids are all a part of these concepts and what you can expect to see from production models now and in the future.
