The New Kia Sportage Goes Naked

Most of the time, when a new vehicle is offered to the market to offer the next step for a model or show up with the upgrades desired, the vehicle appears on the test tracks or on the road wearing camouflage. Whether it’s the padded form that’s strapped to the vehicle to make sure you don’t have any idea of how the model truly looks or it’s the swirling black and white camouflage that’s meant to distort camera views, we’ve grown accustomed to new models showing up wearing some type of cloak to make us wonder what’s going on underneath.

The 2019 version of the Kia Sportage has recently been spied on the streets during testing without any disguise at all. This is an interesting way for the brand to go ahead and give us a preview of what’s going to be offered for our driving enjoyment in the near future. This SUV has received a facelift and it making its way to the market for the next model year to ensure we can continue to enjoy the ride in an SUV that’s affordable and dynamic when it shows up on the road.

Take a Look at Some of the Updates for the New Kia Sportage

On the outside of the new Kia Sportage, you’ll see some minor changes. The new front end is more aggressive with an updated grille, headlights, and new fog lights. The rear also offers some changes including new taillights and an updated bumper. Inside you can expect to see the same look as before to continue to be the comfortable cabin you’ve grown used to seeing when you step in and get ready to take a drive in the Kia Sportage that you love to enjoy out on the road.

While the spy photos don’t show off what the powertrain will offer, there shouldn’t be many changes in this area of the new Sportage. This means we expect to find the 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine offered which makes 181 horsepower and 175 lb.-ft. of torque. The upgraded power comes from a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine to offer you 240 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque to make it possible for you to have more of what you want for the drive. You can also have the benefits of AWD for the Sportage to make sure you’ll have a great ride when you leave the paved roads.

Expect to learn more about what the new Kia Sportage will offer when it comes closer to the new 2019 model year releases.
