The Jeep brand is one of the most changing brands over the next couple years as many of the models that are part of the lineup become restyled to be better than ever and give us an impressive number of upgrades to enjoy on the road. The changes that we expect to see involve being excited to see how the traditional looks are being used while also seeing how the modern and controversial looks that we’ve had for a few years might change and be upgraded along the way.
Why are these looks coming into question? Mostly because of the Jeep Cherokee; yes, I said Jeep Cherokee and not Wrangler. If Jeep were to change the Wrangler too much they would essentially be shooting themselves in the foot, but this brand has changed the Cherokee in the past to make it less of a rough and tumble SUV and give it more of a subdued and modern look that fits well into the modern midsized crossover SUV segment. Now, this model will change once again and all those of you that are saying “thank goodness” can feel some relief.
What is the expected look of the new Jeep Cherokee? This new model is expected to appear to be a model that shows up and gives us the style we want that reflects another model that we already know and love. The new Cherokee is expected to bring us a look and a feel that will be much closer to being one that looks like the Jeep Grand Cherokee which we already love and enjoy on the road. This change in styling has brought on a new conversation about how the brand is making all their vehicles look the same.
Why is this the new conversation? The new Jeep Compass that combined the Compass and Renegade together to bring what appears to be a baby Grand Cherokee has just recently been included in the market and it carries the same look as the larger model. Now we may have three Jeep SUVs that look alike. To that, I say “so what”. Look around at the different brands on the market, especially the luxury brands and what do you see? You see a lineup of vehicles that look that same as each other than just get larger as you move up the lineup which makes it possible for Jeep to be successful with this look.
With this change in style of the Jeep Cherokee, we’ll have the classic look we’ve wanted up front and in the back while we also enjoy the feeling of a drive that is just like a crossover SUV that we’ve been getting used to enjoying on the road. This will be an exciting time for the new models offered by the Jeep brand including the changes made for the Wrangler but the Cherokee is the one that continues to give us more of what we expect and want on the road.
