A Historic Model Returns
If you’ve ever watched a James Bond movie you’ll always notice the amazingly sleek and stylish cars that wear the Aston Martin badge. Starting many years ago, this was the brand chosen by Britain’s greatest on-screen spy to give him the tools to execute his mission as the 007 with a license to kill and the ability to be the desire of every woman that showed up on the screen with him. In an effort to give us a look at one of the classic models thathavebeen brought back, Aston Martin will offer us the DB4 G.T. Continuation model.
This new model has already begun production in the Newport Pagnell facility in Buckinghamshire, England, which is the location Aston Martin Works has called home since 2007.It was once the main headquarters and the production site for the brand and is where the heritage sales, service, spares, and restoration ventures take place while also being the location that is the production site for the DB4 G. T. Continuation. It seems only fitting the brand chose this location to bring us a car that we’ve loved to see on the silver screen and will be built for a few lucky and wealthy buyers.
The Details of the Car
This new DB4 G.T. Continuation model will be extremely limited. Only 25 models will be built, making it one of the rarest cars in the world as soon as it’s built. This car is an exact recreation of the DB4 G.T. racecar that was once the terror of the track. The car will be built with the 340 horsepower 3.7-literstraight six-cylinder engine that we admired when the original made its way to the various tracks around the world. This engine will be attached to a four-speed manual transmission which is the same as the original race car.
Unfortunately, if you want topurchase one of these 25 models, you’ll have to wait until they head to the auction block. All version of this car are already spoken for with the reservations already paid for when it comes to this impressive car. Whether or not we’ll see more models from Aston Martin that make their way back around to the market is yet to be seen, but it seems this could open up new opportunities for Aston Martin to continue to offer these impressive vehicles for the fun of driving and the look we’ll admire.
As the team builds this new car at the facility that’s served the company for a long time, the plan is to open a third location to go along with the Gaydon and the Newport Pagnell locations. This third factory will be built in St. Athan, Wales and it will be where the new DBX will be built as the crossover SUV we want to see from this highly-touted luxury brand. There will be other models built at this new facility as well, and the development of these specialized models such as the DB4 G.T. Continuation, help to fund this facility and make it a reality.
