The future of the EV market is obviously pretty strong considering nearly every automaker will offer several EV models as part of their lineup for the future. The Mitsubishi brand is seeing an opening in the market for performance models that can allow us to have more of the fun we want when we drive a vehicle, even if it’s an EV model. This great opportunity has led this brand to hint at what might be part of their offerings for the future of the drive to ensure we will see Mitsubishi as a fun and active brand.
The performance numbers that can be achieved will largely depend on the development of the battery technology and electric motors as part of the alliance with Renault-Nissan. The brand is expected to look at both plug-in and pure battery-electric vehicles for the future of driving we want to enjoy on the roads with these types of models offering us the performance we will enjoy as we drive. It seems the engineers at Mitsubishi are already excited about the fact they might get the chance to develop something like an EV model that can be a performance model.
Hints that Mitsubishi Will Bring the Vehicles We Want to Drive
Right now, the alliance is at a level of over ten million vehicles a year to make sure we can have the models that we want to drive in several markets around the world. This team feels they can help make EV models economical for us to drive on the road and enjoy the ride from behind the wheel. The future of what the Mitsubishi brand may bring to the market started with the e-Evolution concept model that showed up to give us an idea of what the car could be on the road.
This e-Evolution concept is an SUV that showed a different take on the Evolution nameplate and one that we’re not sure we’re sold on yet, but Mitsubishi seems pretty excited about it. This model is an EV that looks amazing and could be the one that we see bring back the Evo name in a way that we’ve never seen in the past. The production of this vehicle has remained quiet so far, but it could become the next SUV that we want to drive and one that shows up with only electric power for the drive.
Most of the future Mitsubishi models have a lot in common with the Renault and Nissan models and that’s no accident. Considering Nissan had to swoop in and save the day to make sure Mitsubishi would continue to be a brand we know and trust, they have been in charge of making sure what Mitsubishi offers is ready for the market. Nearly eighty percent of all vehicles form the alliance share common underpinnings and that’s good news for Mitsubishi which has become a brand that’s taken a turn for the worse over the past several years.
