More automakers are turning to electrification to help create more efficiency and in some cases more performance for you on the road.  The fact that more EV models are being built and hybrids have gotten better leaves us to know that this segment of the automotive market is only going to grow.  It may only represent a small portion of what we know right now, but as these vehicles have become more popular and the cost for one has dropped it’s become evident that more of us are going to be expected to help save the planet with one of these cars.  With that in mind, here are the ten cheapest green cars offered on the market today:

Kia Optima Hybrid – This car offers you more conventional styling than some hybrids and is a car that allows you to have the qualities you want and the performance you need when searching for efficiency.  This sedan can give you as much as 46 mpg on the highway and is offered at a price that starts at less than $27,000 before any tax credits.

Hyundai Sonata Hybrid – This gorgeous mid-sized car is one that allows you to have an easy way to drive in the city with 39 mpg while the highway number is even better at 45 mpg.  You’ll love the smooth ride and a reasonable amount of power that can be right for you when you consider driving this car that also starts at a price below $27,000.

Ford Fusion Hybrid – The Fusion is an attractive car and one that you’re probably familiar with.  At a price of just a little over $26,000, you’ll have the benefit of 43 mpg in the city and 41 mpg on the highway while the hybrid powertrain gives you 188 horsepower to make sure you can have a great drive and everything you’ve been looking for on the road.

Ford C-Max Hybrid – This car often gets overlooked, but it can be an excellent choice when you want a car that’s perfect for you to drive.  This is a Ford car that’s offered for just a little over $25,000 and it gives you 42 mpg in the city and 38 mpg on the highway in a small hatchback that is easy to drive and enjoy wherever you need to go.

Smart ForTwo Electric Drive – This EV model is a true city dweller, but at that low price of $24,550 and with the fact you never have to stop at a gas station you could love this car.  Park it nearly anywhere and you’ll have plenty of room as you enjoy the range per charge that falls between 70 and 80 miles to make this the right car for you to enjoy and experience every day.

Toyota Prius – This is arguably the most famous hybrid on the market and its one that you can have for just over $24,000 and enjoy the drive.  This attractive Toyota can give you as much as 54 mpg in the city and 50 mpg on the highway but it does come with a lower power number than most of the other hybrid models on the market.

Mitsubishi i-MiEV – This little hatchback is one that is priced below $24,000 and it has a small size and shape to give you a car that you can enjoy in the city.  You’ll only have 66 horsepower which makes this a car you won’t want to drive in highway traffic, but it can last for as much as 62 miles on a single charge and then charge up at home for you.

Kia Niro – This new small crossover SUV is offered as a hybrid model that can be perfect for you to drive.  This vehicle is priced below $24,000 and it can return 52 mpg in the city and 49 mpg on the highway to be a great small SUV for you to enjoy out on the road.  The 139 horsepower is enough to get the job done and you’ll certainly admire the spacious interior offered.

Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid – This car is part of a new lineup of three models from Hyundai.  The hybrid model is the most affordable at just over $23,000 and it can offer you as much as 57 mpg in the city and 59 mpg on the highway to give you a great way to enjoy the drive.  You’ll also never feel cheated with the 139 horsepower offered from this hybrid powertrain.

Toyota Prius c – This compact hatchback model of the Prius that we love is one that is dialed down to be the least expensive model on the road in the hybrid/EV market.  This car has a starting price of $21,035 and it can give you 48 mpg in the city and 43 mpg on the highway.  This is a car that fits anywhere and makes it easy for you to afford and enjoy an excellent hybrid model.
