A Class Leader that Just Got Better

When it comes to luxury cars there aren’t many brands that play on the same stage as the Mercedes-Benz brand. This is a luxury car brand that has been building gorgeous and elegant luxury cars for many years. The leading model of this car is the S-Class which is the large sedan with many of the impressive features that are right for the drive. At the top of the S-Class trim lineup the AMG models of the S63 and S65 are positioned to give you more of the features and dynamic driving that works for you.

The news of the S63 is that this car is now powered by more of what we’ve wanted for a long time. This car may have some semi-autonomous tech to be enjoyed and the updated design that’s right for you but until now it didn’t have the power you would have wanted. The new E63 model has an engine that will certainly work well and will now be added to the lineup as the engine for the S63. This means you can have the Mercedes-AMG S63 model that will be powered by a 4.0-liter twin turbocharged V8 engine with 603 horsepower sent to all four wheels at the same time.

If you’ve been familiar with this model from Mercedes-AMG you’ll realize the S63 now has a smaller engine, which means a lighter weight but it has 26 more horsepower. This new engine is able to make a full 664 lb.-ft. of torque as well. The engine is 1.5-liters smaller but its right for this new car with its lighter weight and bigger power. This new engine is attached to an impressive nine-speed multi-clutch automatic transmission to give you an easy way to have the shifting you want in the car you love.

Another part that’s been pushed up the lineup to the S63 is the 4Matic+ AWD system that was shown first in the E63 and now this car offers a fully variable toque distribution with a front to rear bias. The one item that doesn’t make its way up the lineup is the front axle disconnecting Drift Mode because it would be a pointless addition to this car even though it might be a lot of fun. This should all be great for the drive of this car and offer you the perfect ride on the road when you want a top level car.

Of course, if you don’t feel like the new S63 brings you enough of what you want, there is the S65 which is powered by the V12 engine to make 621 horsepower and 738 lb.-ft. of torque. This engine is mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission which is the same as what this car has had in the past. The S63 is able to reach sixty mph in only 3.4 seconds while the S65 will make the same run in 4.2 seconds which is the result of the heavier weight of the engine and the lack of AWD in the bigger car with the larger engine.
