Cadillac Elmiraj Concept Coupe: Something to Really Get Excited About
Those of us who love the Cadillacs of the 1960’s with the long front end, big wheel base and rolling attitude are in for a real special treat with the new Cadillac Elmiraj Concept Coupe. A new innovation from Cadillac that brings back some of the old body styles from the old Eldorado with a bold new look and bullish attitude.
Unveiled in Carmel, California this past August, the Elmiraj was the belle of the ball turning every head including the neighbor from across the street who was none other than Clint Eastwood himself. One look at the car and its stats and Eastwood was ready to write a check on the spot, that is the kind of car Cadillac has here.
With the Elmiraj, the driver receives all the advantages Cadillac can offer. Carrying a hefty 500 horses under the hood, sleek and beautiful lines on the outside with very little to take your attention away from the sharpness of the car this is a beauty riding down the road. The Elmiraj brings back that signature look of the long front from the dash to the grill and shows off with a front end that warns others to get out of the way for something seriously special.
The Elmiraj will not just be the big brother to the CTS but rather has a fresh look all its own. In the coupe model, not only do we have the great style on the outside, but the inside is more than what you come to expect from Cadillac. Trimmed out in rosewood, supple tan leather, and added chrome, grey and charcoal accents, the Indian Blue Cadillac Elmiraj that was unveiled is one stunning vehicle.
The interior also brings some attitude with the clear covered analog instrument panel and flip screen information center, allowing a clean dashboard line when not in use. With front and rear cameras and direction indicators on the screen, the driver has more information than ever before to ensure their drive and ride is almost as if the car and driver are one on the road.
Another great feature of the Elmiraj Coupe is the moving seats for the rear passengers. This feature is called the valet option and when engaged the front seat moves ten inches forward while the rear moves four inches forward to allow a rear passenger to enter the vehicle easier. The valet option is a fabulous and unique idea, ensuring the backseat passengers are comfortable and riding in style.
The concept of the Elmiraj is much more practical than the Ciel, unveiled just two years earlier and hasn’t gotten off the production line just yet, because the coupe’s two door look gives the feel of a classic coupe or GT from the exterior to the four seat buckets on the interior. However the Elmiraj does lack that special spark of power the Cadillac Cien which possessed an awesome 750 horsepower.
Will the Cadillac Elmiraj be the next great luxury coupe or will it wither and die like its namesake? That question can only by answered by us, the consumes, as this is the first time in decades Cadillac has had a concept car like this one. Only time and testing will tell how big this car can be on the market, but for the moment, Cadillac has certainly captured our attention with this beauty.
