The brand of BMW has enjoyed a very long tradition of offering some of the most well-engineered and best performing cars on the road. The German automaker seems to always find new ways to impress the world and be ahead of the curve at every change they have. The BMW 6-Series is no different at all. The M6 is a sleek and eye-catching sedan that shows off with a lot of power and massive amounts of performance on the road. The M6 is a car built to go up against the Jaguar XK, Mercedes-Benz E-Class and the Audi S5 and so far has done so with ease and precision that can only be expected of the German engineering.
With power and precision the 6-Series shows up for 2015 as a great lineup of luxury cars that are fun to drive, easy to handle and full of great equipment and style to enjoy. For 2015 the Alpina B6 xDrive Gran Coupe shows up with more performance than the 650i xDrive and more luxury than the M6 Gran Coupe. This gives shoppers a great advantage to be able to take advantage of an Alpina performance tuned BMW that can be found at BMW dealerships worldwide.
Driving any of the 6-Series models of BMW is sure to delight any driver, leaving them begging for more when the ride is over. The suspension is so well-engineered these cars can’t ever lose grip and handle road defects as if they weren’t even present. The steering is so sharp in the tiniest inputs are needed to keep the navigation of this group of awesome cars moving where they need to be. Add to this one of the quietest cabins in the auto world and the BMW 6-Series cars are going to continue to be sought after by very large crowds for a long time.
Four different power plants are presented to shoppers for the 6-series even though three of them use the same V8 engine. The first of these four is a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine that offers 315 horsepower and 330 lb.-ft. of torque and is featured on the base 640i model. Finally is the engine found in the M6 which is the same 4.4-liter turbocharged V8 bringing the heat with 560 horsepower and 500 lb.-ft. of torque. This engine is married up with a seven-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmission and is not offered as an AWD version at all. The fuel efficiency offered by these powertrains comes in at 14 city/20 hwy mpg for the automatics and 15 city/22 hwy mpg for the manual equipped versions.
With a cabin that is far and away better than most BMW has ever produced the 6-Series offers soft and supple materials throughout the vehicle. Plenty of great looking accents are in play here as well such as Myrtle wood accents and metal trimmings that all genuinely offer the full look and feel of the luxury car that the 6-Series really is. The Alpina designed model adds a very unique quality and pattern of leather and the convertible models keep the cargo space intact even when the top is folded down.
From the outside the 6-Series lineup is long, sleek, stylish and sharp. Offering the signature front split grill with the BMW logo placed just above the hood curves downward toward the front and runs a very smooth line to the windshield that offers low angle of transition to the roofline which continues to the rear of the vehicle. The side panels have some very stylish shaping to them allowing for an interesting appearance at every point of the car. The thin star shaped spoke wheels offer a look into the workings under the car leaving the large and handsome brake calipers exposed and showing off in great delight. Overall the car looks confident, athletic and ready to roll to show off how pleasing cruising in this great BMW can be.
The standard equipment offered for the BMW 6-Series of cars starts at the 640i offering leather and wood interior, xenon headlights, a navigation system with a 10.2-inch display, dynamic cruise control, a rearview camera and a nine-speaker 250-watt audio system. The opening price for a 640i comes in at a little more than $76,000 and moving up to the 650i brings an asking price of just over $87,000. The Gran Coupes add about $2,000 to each price and convertibles bring in an additional $7,000. Adding AWD adds about $3,000 to the price as well and the Alpina B6 comes in above $118,000.
