Aston Martin Racing Hits Decade Mark
It might not seem like a long time in the world of auto racing, but the Aston Martin Racing brand has hit the 10-year mark as their modern racing division. It’s not that the luxury brand is new to racing. This is their modern racing division, a distinction that the team has played towards being a rebirth as much as bringing new technology and flare to GT racing.
Racing Chairman David Richards said that the team was introduced to “reinforce the motorsport DNA” of their cars into a world that is showing signs of embracing the speed and luxury that has made the brand great over the decades. This isn’t just a brand for Europeans or James Bond fans. Even those who love the sport more than the cars can embrace their direction.
It seems to be paying off. As many luxury manufacturers are closing stores around the world and particularly in the United States, Aston Martin is opening more. Their most recent, a New Jersey Aston Martin dealership, is scheduled to open later this year.
According to Aston Martin:
Aston Martin Racing will contest the 2014 WEC with four Gulf-liveried Vantage GTEs, plus a six-car entry at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It will also enter its Bilstein-liveried Vantage GT3 into the ADAC Nürburgring 24 Hours.
