Playing racing video games often leads to wonder of whether or not these cars could actually become real and be visible and drivable on the streets. The Toyota FT-1 Graphite is such a car. Featured in Gran Turismo 6 the FT-1 Graphite is sleek, sharp and fast. With a huge amount of power on the screen as well as a massive attitude the FT-1 Graphite is the perfect car for enthusiasts to desire on the road and is now available as one of the many concept cars Toyota is working on.
By putting the Supra franchise through an overhaul, Toyota chose the FT-1 Graphite to be the car that leads the way for this makeover. Coming in the sleek graphite color the FT-1 has some seriously cool features such as an elongated low angled hood to give the car a massive racing appearance and an extendable and retractable spoiler that helps keep the car on the road by adding downforce along with being video game cool in real life.
The FT-1 Graphite shows off with amazing style features such as huge side vents built into the highly attractive side panel shaping that gives the car a wider stance and allows it to achieve faster speeds on and off the track. On the inside the FT-1 is built with a very sleek and simple design giving drivers only what they need to control the car, but still offers a huge amount of premium elements to allow the racer or enthusiast to be more than proud to drive this car. These elements include such niceties as premium leather, a flat-bottom steering wheel, aluminum pedals. Along with style the car offers some intelligence in its interior design including having elongated A-pillars for better visibility and gears that are put very close to the driver to allow less searching at high speeds.
Without engine specifications and actual testing results to give us an idea of true performance it’s hard to know what this car is going to be capable of, however with Toyota’s reputation and expectations they have stated this will be a car to rival the Aston Martin DP-100. With that in mind we can expect a near 800 horsepower and an acceleration that reaches sixty mph in less than three seconds to go along with a top speed near 200 mph. Along with those numbers, the expected overall weight of the car should top out below 2,500 pounds making it a very light and agile sports car.
As a car with so much to offer the true car enthusiast who has plenty of money to spend on a super car the FT-1 is expected to show up with a price anywhere from $90,000 to $110,000 when actually available to purchase. Giving those who have played many racing video games a look at one of their own high performance racing machines come to life, the FT-1 Graphite elicits a great deal of excitement. Seeing the actual possibilities and real life enjoyment of racing fun, the FT-1 Graphite may be the first of many video game style offerings.
