A New Suite of Safety Items for Our Enjoyment

Long gone are the days when safety was only offered in the higher models of the market. The automotive world has advanced and safety tests have become more difficult over the years in order to give us more of what we want when we drive. No matter the model you choose, there should be some safety items that will be offered to help keep you and your family safe on the road, regardless of the amount you’re able to spend on the vehicle that you drive and enjoy on a daily basis.
The value of every life is equal, regardless of what we do with the life we’re given. As long as you’re able to get behind the wheel and take off for a drive, you need to have safety items that aren’t only designed to protect you in a crash, but also keep you from having a crash in the first place. Ford has decided it’s time to put together the most advanced safety suite of technologies to be offered as standard fare on every Ford model they sell to make sure you can enjoy the benefits of systems that can react faster than you.

Introduction the Ford Co-Pilot360 System

This new system of safety features will offer you the driver assist technologies you want. Considered the most comprehensive package in the full-line brands in North America, the Co-Pilot360 system will offer you the benefits of automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, blind spot information, lane keeping assist, a rear backup camera, and automatic high beams. This new system will be offered across all the Ford passenger cars, SUVs, and trucks up to the Ford F-150 models. The first vehicle to be equipped with this system will be the 2019 Ford Edge and Edge ST which will arrive in the fall.

Ford isn’t stopping at the system mentioned. In fact, Ford will invest $500 million over the next five years to continue to develop new driver assistance and safety technologies for the drive you’ll want to enjoy. Ford will also work to simplify these technologies in order to make sure they can work better than we do when on the road as we move toward driving becoming automated in the future. The development of these technologies, while outside of the development of the autonomous vehicle research, you can certainly expect new safety items to make their way to the autonomous models of the future as well.

The new tech will also be offered in the commercial vehicle models offered in the future from Ford as well. This means we will have automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, driver alerts, and more in the E-Series, F-650, F0750, and F59 chassis. These models will enjoy adding these qualities to the mix by 2020 to give those who have to drive for their job more safety items inside to keep them and the company investment safe on the road. Expect Ford to continue to lead the way in this category, but also expect others brands to follow suit.
