This engine also uses the same transmission as its gasoline twin. At the top of the engine lineup you find the 5.7-liter Hemi V8 that is the most admired engine in the group. This beast is capable of giving you 395 horsepower and 410 lb.-ft. of torque while being mated to a six-speed automatic transmission or the eight-speed automatic. This powertrain will result in fuel mileage numbers of 15 city/22 hwy mpg in 2WD and 13 city/19 hwy with the 4WD and six-speed automatic while the eight speed 4WD model will increase the number to 15 city/21 hwy mpg.

The Ram 1500 starts out at a reasonable price point which comes in at just a little over $27,600 for the work truck mode. With so many different ways this truck can be configured you can have this truck as high as $60,000 in the Limited 4WD model with all the boxes checked off. To have a reasonable in between model you would pay in the $30,000 range and enjoy a variety of great features, bed lengths, cab configurations and items that make a huge difference in your truck experience.
