Riding the Buzz

One of the biggest successes in any industry is to bring back something that was admired for many years earlier.  Look at the Batman television series that was turned into a booming movie empire, the comic book heroes that make their way to the big screen, and even the Rocky franchise has made a comeback with a new movie.  We love our older stuff and the comebacks that can be made including older cars that have shown up as the basis for the style of many muscle cars that have the look of yesteryear about them.  With this in mind we can enjoy a resurgence of a car and a show that is blended into one.

The announcement of a new project has happened, but very little is actually known about the project.  In true car concept style the announcement that a new project has spurned that will excite a crowd of 1980s television fans, but no actual details about the project is certainly enough to get us talking about what this just might be and how much we will enjoy the fun of what is yet to come.  I’m sure the next bit of information will be similarly as vague and leave us wondering, but still pique our interest and let us see a little more about the project.

So far this project shows up in the form of a trailer online which gives us a peak into the possibility of Knight Rider making a return.  This return is expected to be called Knight Rider Heroes and the trailer features KITT the Pontiac Trans-Am that talks and Michael Knight who is still played by David Hasselhoff.  Even though the trailer points to a website that will give you more information there isn’t anything on the website that will let you feel as if you have more information than you had before.

What this new version of the 1980s TV classic is has not been announced.  This could be a television series, an online event, or a movie for all we know.  The only real details we know is the Hasselhoff will still play Michael Knight and wear the signature leather jacket and shades and the car will still be KITT the Pontiac Trans-Am.  It’s hard to discern what the features will be or how the adventure will continue for this pair of crime fighters that were certainly futuristic at the time of the original show.

Whether you watched the Knight Rider series when it was offered originally in the 1980s or you just want to see what comes of this project we get the pleasure of enjoying the adventures once again.  As a love of both television and cars I look forward to seeing one of my favorite cars ever on the screen again talking in that familiar voice that made it famous for helping to solve mysteries.  More information to come as the project becomes a reality and the website gives us more information on this famous pair.
