A New Party to Enjoy

We’ve been waiting for a while for the new Fiesta ST to show up and be the next version of a hot hatch that we want to drive. Ford got our energies started by bringing in the Focus RS a couple years ago to make it easy for us to see what a hot hatch could be. There’s been no promise of the same level of performance that was put in the Focus hot hatch, but the new Fiesta ST is a car that will give us a fantastic ride and offer us everything we want on the road so that we can have some fun.

There aren’t many sports cars that have this small of an engine under the hood but the Fiesta ST isn’t the same as the other sporty cars on the road. As the tiny hot hatch that it is this car is one that is being built and powered by a 1.5-liter EcoBoost three-cylinder engine to provide nearly 200 horsepower and 214 lb.-ft. of torque. This engine is attached to one of the most active and enjoyable transmissions on the market, the six-speed manual that gets put in with this engine.

One of the impressive ways this new model that will be part of the 2018 lineup makes things even better for you is with a single cylinder deactivation system that gives you more efficiency on the road. Of course, with only three cylinders under the hood this car will offer great fuel mileage whether it’s running on two or three cylinders on the road. The Fiesta ST is expected to be able to reach sixty mph in less than 6.7 seconds, which doesn’t sound exciting or fast, but it’s certainly fast for this class of car and will let you have an even more fun party on the road.

Normally you won’t see a selection of driving modes in a small car like this one. This car brings you three though, which makes it easy for you to choose the driving mode that you want to enjoy. The three that you can choose from are Normal, Sport and Track to give you the engine performance, throttle response, steering dynamics and stability control you want. These three modes also affect different exhaust sounds for this ca which makes it an interesting car to drive when you choose different modes on a regular basis.

The sound you hear from the exhaust is a bit of a different item that you’ll enjoy. This is a sound that’s electronically pumped into the engine to give you an active exhaust sound that you can enjoy. There is even torque vectoring added to the Fiesta ST to give you more control and stability in the corners while reducing the understeer that you can sometimes experience when applying the brakes. This car offers you a set of Recaro seats, a flat bottom steering wheel, an updated Sync 3 system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and much more to give you a full driving experience.

If you’re looking for the part during the 2018 model years there’s only one car that you should know and it’s named for the party that it brings. The Ford Fiesta ST will be the fun car to drive that you’ll love to have on the road and at the track. It may not be the absolute fastest car on the road, but it’s certainly built to be a lot of fun wherever you go and provides you with the ride and driving engagement you want so that you can have the right way to enjoy the drive every time you get in and expect a great party.
