Luxe Valet Will Now Drive You Home

There are many driving services out there today. Traditional taxi cabs, Uber, and other companies offer to drive you home in their vehicles. This is a nice option when you didn’t drive your car to your destination, but what if you have had one too many cocktails and don’t want to leave your vehicle behind because finding a ride to retrieve it could be a bit too cumbersome the next day? Now there is a service that will drive your car home (at least in Seattle.)

Luxe is a San Francisco based on-demand startup that was able to raise $20 million in March. Now they have debuted their new service called Drive Home Safe. The company already offers a valet service that allows you to hail a driver to come park your vehicle and then bring it back to you when you are ready to leave. This is a nice option to have when you have an appointment and don’t have time to look for parking, or don’t want to walk miles to get to that appointment.

The charge for the valet service is $5 per hour with a maximum of $15 per day. The valet service will be there within 15 minutes of your request and bring it back within 15 minutes as well. Luxe is broadening their services to allow customers to request a ride home in their own vehicles. The rate is $25 plus $3 per mile, so although this isn’t a cheap option, it ensures your vehicle will make it home safely and you don’t have to go get it the next day.

The Luxe driver will ask the user for their destination information as well as pickup time, meet them at their vehicle and then drive them in their own vehicle to their destination. The driver will then return home via public transportation, taxi, or their own method. The good news is that for every customer who uses the Drive Home Safe service, Luxe will donate $1 to Mothers Against Drunk Driving.

Luxe tested the Drive Home Safe service in San Francisco and is now launching the service in Seattle and Chicago. Luxe’s operating hours are Monday through Wednesday 7a.m. to 10a.m, Thursday & Friday 7a.m. to 12a.m., Saturday 10a.m. to 12a.m., and Sunday 10a.m. to 6p.m.
