EV The Right Way

Last year we were all stunned when Faraday Future showed up at the Consumer Electronics Show with a teaser of a new supercar that could drive on EV power alone. This car certainly put us in awe and gave the EV world, especially Formula E racing something new and impressive to think about, but for the most part this amazing car was like a dessert. It nice to see sometimes and on special occasions, but not something you need to have all the time. The track ready prototype is a car that gave us the look and exciting beginning, but now Faraday Future has more for us to enjoy.

At the 2017 Consumer Electronics Show we will get to see the new vehicle that Faraday Future has been working on and it’s expected to be something extremely special. This American electric car startup company that has the backing of a Chinese billionaire is ready to reveal its first production car, which might actually be the first true challenger for Tesla. Faraday Future is already working on a massive factory that’s supposed to cover three-million square feet in the North Las Vegas. This massive factory just might be the icing on the cake to make this company the one that more of us will choose when we want a great vehicle to drive.

The billionaire that owns Faraday Future also owns LeEco which is a Chinese electric company, which showed off an electric car concept in April before the Beijing Motor Show. The fact that the same billionaire owns both companies is something to marvel at. The technology developed for one will be offered to the other as well which will mostly a wide range of battery pack sizes that can be available for the vehicles developed in the future.

The team at Faraday Future is also helping to develop a universal platform that can be used on both concept cars from these two companies. The vehicle that Faraday has for us appears to be a crossover SUV that will offer the look and feel we want in a great EV that will give us the ride we want and the look that’s impressive. No more information is available just yet except for what we’ve seen in a few teaser videos that hint at the wheels having motors inside of them that can give the car a charge from all four corners.

While we wait a few more weeks for the full look at this new model from Faraday Future and the production that it will be, we get to think about how far EV driving has come. No word has been revealed yet as to the range of this new EV, but if it’s meant to compete with Tesla in any way, it will have to have a range of at least 300 miles and have some advanced technology and connectivity for us to consider it a direct competitor. That gives us a lot to look forward to next month in Las Vegas when the CES rolls into town.
